Support Ramtop Morris
In the Ramtop village where they dance the real Morris dance, for example, they believe that no one is finally dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away...
-Terry Pratchett, Reaper Man
This September, a small team of Ramtop Morris will be attending their first Morris Ale! It will be a weekend of Morris dancing in Berkley California, where we will meet fellow dancers, get to showcase our work and get to learn new things too! We are trying to raise money to help us get there because it's about $230 a person (this all-inclusive price takes care of food and lodging as well as the event admission).

What is Morris Dancing?
Morris dancing is a form of English folk dance. It is based on rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures by a group of dancers in costume, usually wearing bell pads on their shins and/or shoes. A band or single musician, also costumed, will accompany them. Sticks, swords, handkerchiefs, and a variety of other implements may be wielded by the dancers.
Our Story
The Lancre Morris Men are six-time champions of the Fifteen Mountains All-Comers tournament located in the Ramtop Mountains of the Discworld... We are not them. We are from a plucky little village known as "Bad Ass"--named specifically for a particularly naughty donkey.

Ramtop Morris is a troupe of nerds with a love for both Terry Pratchett's Discworld and hitting things with sticks and have been making the phrase "We'll be there with bells on" an oddly ominous threat since we first began in 2023. Creating this troupe was a dream of our founder Angelique for many years and we could not be more proud of her for making that dream a reality.

A Morris Ale is where multiple Morris sides (troupes) band together for feasting, dancing, and sharing of knowledge. It's an event that does not often happen in the US, but we're excited to be able to participate and are grateful for any help people are willing to provide.
